Currently IKERLAT Polymers commercializes 4 types of products (the fifth is under development) with characteristics than can be adjusted according to your requirements, such as particle size, functionality, parking area, color intensity…
After a very controlled manufacture of the polymeric dispersions, we develop an accurate characterization of the different beads. IKERLAT has all the equipment required to properly characterize the products:
- Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Disc Centrifuge Photosedimentometer (DCP) for particle size and particle size distributions determination.
- Automated potentio-conductimetric titrations for particle surface characterization.
- Gravimetry for solids content determination.
- Gas Chromatography for residual monomer content determination.
- Espectrofluorimetric measurements for λex, λem and fluorescence intensity determination.
- Magnetic separators equipped with process monitoring system for magnetic products.
Some additional equipment like transmission and scanning electron microscopes (SEM and TEM), FTIR, equipment for magnetization curves… are available for our staff through collaboration agreements with universities and technological centers.
In some cases, a cleaning process can be applied to the polymer dispersion in order to remove emulsifiers and salts from the aqueous phase. These are substances that might in some cases interfere with the antigen-antibody reaction.
All of our products are shipped with a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) including the main characteristics of the polymer beads. As an added value service, an accredited external laboratory analyzes the presence of microorganisms in all the shipped latexes and the result obtained is included in the CoA.
